SPRING BLINK

Ya estamos a mediados de Abril, y las temperaturas parecen no querer seguir la tradición: aguas mil. Estamos viviendo los primeros días de calor del año, los cuales nos anuncian que tendremos un "señor verano". Media Barcelona parece haberse puesto de acuerdo: los jerséis desaparecen y se sustituyen por camisas desabrochadas, mientras que las bufandas, gorros y botas deciden dar paso a nuevos outfits; cómodos y frescos. Pero sin embargo, desconfiado de mí, no me atrevo a despedir el paraguas de la mochila. Es curioso: cada verano es diferente, no hay dos iguales. Ya no solo me refiero Moda y tendencias, sino también a su atmósfera. Todo cambia en verano, y estoy deseando que llegue lo antes posible. Mi post de hoy va dedicado a los días primaverales, volcándose en los tonos tierra, mezclado con el ritmo frenético de la ciudad. Con amor, David.

We're in mid-April, and temperatures doesn't want to keep the tradition. We are on  the first warm days of the year, which they announce that we will have a great summer. Most of Barcelona seems to have agreed: the sweaters are now away and are replaced with unbuttoned shirts while scarves, hats and boots decide to make way for new outfits; comfortable and fresh. But nevertheless, suspicious of me, I dare not dismiss the umbrella of the backpack. It's funny: every summer is different. I'm not speaking about fashion and trends, it's all about its atmosphere. Everything changes in the summer, and I'm looking forward to it as soon as possible. My today post is dedicated to Spring days, in earth tones, mixed with the frenetic beat of the city. Love, David.

WICKED GAMES

¡Buenas noches! Tengo la necesidad de disculparme: llevo exactamente una semana sin pronunciarme, y todos ya sabemos a qué es debido... Sí, estudios. Proyectos, presentaciones, exámenes, ensayos... Todo para un buen futuro. Hablando de futuro: se acercan 5, repito, 5 espectáculos en los que actuaré de aquí a junio; todos relacionados con el canto, el baile y el teatro. ¡Que ganas! El mundo escénico es mi pasión, el Arte es la solución a mi caos. Iré especificando según se acerquen las fechas. De momento, la única que puedo anunciar es la siguiente: bailaré junto con tres amigas (Adriana García, Claudia de Luna y Clara Mingueza) la canción de Marry The Night de Lady Gaga en la discoteca Suite 191 de Barcelona el día 26 de abril, el cual cae en viernes. ¡Estamos muy nerviosos! Se realizará un concurso en donde futuros estilistas mostrarán sus habilidades, y nosotros seremos, digamos, los modelos. Hasta aquí puedo leer. Como prometí en el anterior post, mi siguiente publicación sería de "The After Party" de "The Party & The After Party", como la canción de The Weeknd. Good night! I feel obligated to apologize: I have been exactly one week offline, and we all know why... Yes, studies. Projects, presentations, exams, rehearsals... All this just for a good future. And in future speaking: are approaching 5, I'll repeat it, 5 performances that will be made all along April, May and June, all related with singing, dancing and theater. I'm so exited! The performing world is my passion, Art is the solution to my chaos. I'll specify as the dates approach. For now, the only thing I can announce is this: I'll dance with three friends (Adriana Garcia, Claudia de Luna and Clara Mingueza) the Lady Gaga song Marry The Night at a nightclub called Suite 191, in Barcelona on April 26, which is Friday. We are very nervous! A competition will be celebrated, where designers will show their skills, and we will be, let's say, the models of the show. As promised in the previous post, my next publication would be "The After Party" of "The Party & The After Party" like the song of The Weeknd. ¡Hey! ¿Todo bien, amigos? Espero que estéis igual que felices que yo. Está claro que tener vacaciones es un requisito absolutamente necesario cada equis tiempo... Creerme,  lo he estado comprobando casi dos décadas. Os he de confesar que hace un días estuve un poco "rayado" por temas varios, y de ahí proviene la melancolía e inspiración de la que os he hablado en anteriores publicaciones. Pero ya vuelvo a ser yo mismo, el David de siempre. He descubierto que pensar demasiado en algo solo lleva a pensamientos negativos. Esto no hubiera sido posible gracias a amigos y familia, y música. Pensadlo. ¿Qué haríamos sin la música? ¿Cómo serían nuestras vidas sin ella? ¿Con qué nos identificaríamos entonces? Me es bastante difícil imaginarlo... y sobretodo si estudias un Bachillerato Artístico Escénico.

Os dejo unas fotografías que tienen más de un año, y tampoco son de aquellas de las que te puedes sentir orgulloso; pero me encantan. Me encantan porque hacen que recuerde aquel día que pasé con Andrea: aparte de prima, un gran amiga. Muchos creen que somos hermanos, por nuestro parecido físico, psíquico, por la forma en la que nos expresamos, movemos... La verdad es que incluso ya tenemos planes de futuro. Somos como dos perros, que se huelen y se encantan a sí mismos, que solo necesitan una cámara fotográfica para pasarlo bien.

Todas las fotografías de aquél día serán clasificadas en dos publicaciones. Será como el título de una canción de The Weeknd: The Party & The After Party. Para que lo entendáis, esta es "The Party". "The After Party" será la próxima publicación. Espero que las disfrutéis. Con amor, David.

Hey! What's up, friends? Hope you're as happy as me. Having holidays is a requirement absolutely necessary... Trust me, I've been checking it almost two decades. I must confess that some days ago I was feeling down because of various topics, and from there it comes the melancholy and inspiration of which I have spoken to you in previous publications. But I'm back, the usual David is here. I learned that overthinking on something only leads to negative thoughts. This wouldn't have been possible without friends and family, and music. Think about it. What would we do without music? How would our lives be without it? It's difficult to imagine... and especially if you're studying Performing Arts.

You have some pictures that were taken a year ago, and aren't those from which you can feel proud neither; but I love them. I love them because they remind me that day I spent with Andrea: besides raw, a great friend. Many people believe that we are brothers, because we are really similar: physical, mental, the way in which we express, we move ... The truth is that we even have plans for the future. We are like two dogs that smell each other and love each other too, which they only need a camera to have fun.

All the pictures of that day will be classified in two publications. It's like the title of a song by The Weeknd: The Party & The After Party. For you to understand, this is "The Party". "The After Party" will be the next post. I hope you enjoy them. Love, David.

Ayer por la noche todos mis amigos estaban de fiesta, pero era un día de esos que... como diría Bruno Mars, "today I don't feel like doing anything". Así que decidí quedarme en casa. Estaba aburrido y como por arte de magia apareció el nombre de Coco Chanel (La Película) en mi televisión. No lo dudé y hice palomitas al instante. La verdad es que no es la primera vez que la veo, pero vale la pena quedarse hasta la 1:30 de la mañana enganchado a la pantalla, sobretodo si eres un apasionado de la Moda. Siempre admiré a Gabrielle: una mujer con carisma, valiente, fuerte y segura de sí misma, que perdió a toda su familia y al amor de su vida a una muy temprana edad. Una mujer que nunca se casó ni tuvo hijos, que persiguió sus sueños hasta la muerte y creó un imperio con sus propias manos. Esa es Grabielle Chanel, alguien digna de admirar. Y por este mismo motivo le dedico este post en David's Overdose. La película está protagonizada por Shirley MacLaine, nominada a un Globo de Oro, un Emmy y un premio Screen Actors Guild por su trabajo. Para resumir: ¡todo un gusto verla! Pasad muy buena noche. Last night all my friends were partying, but it was one of those days that... as Bruno Mars would say, "today I don't feel like doing anything." So I decided to stay home. I was bored and suddenly appeared the name of Coco Chanel (The Movie) on my TV. I didn't hesitate and immediately I do popcorn. The truth is that isn't the first time I saw it, but it's worth staying until 1:30 hooked to the screen, especially if you are passionate about Fashion. I've alwaysGabrielle: a woman with carisma, brave, strong and confident, who lost his entire family and the love of his life at a very early age. A woman who never married or had children, that followed her dreams until death and created an empire with his own hands. She's Grabielle Chanel, someone worth admiring. And for this reason I dedicate this post to her on David's Overdose. The film stars Shirley MacLaine, nominated for a Golden Globe, an Emmy and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his work. Es Semana Santa, y espero que al igual que yo estéis disfrutando de no hacer nada (productivo). Aunque la verdad es que no es del todo cierto, ya que últimamente me siento bastante inspirado y aprovecho para escribir. Sí; escribo historias, poemas, redacciones, pensamientos, opiniones, sensaciones... No sé si conoceréis The xx: es una banda formada en 2005 compuesta por tres veinteañeros del suroeste de Londres. Si lo que buscáis es un momento de tranquilidad y paz interior, os recomiendo su famosa canción llamada Angels. Orgásmica. Quizá su música y los días semi-lluviosos de esta primavera son los causantes de mi inspiración. Y referente al Arte, os enseñaré cómo viví la pasada Semana Cultural, en la que tuve la oportunidad de visitar exposiciones varias. Os dejo unas pequeñas muestras de un museo al que fui con mis compañeros de clase. La chica que veis es Katia de Toledo (Bolboreta), ya nombrada en anteriores publicaciones; una gran amiga. It's Easter, and I hope that, like me, you are enjoying doing anything productive at all. But the truth is that is not entirely true, because recently I feel quite inspired and I take the opportunity to write. Yes; I write stories, poems, essays, thoughts, opinions, feelings ... TELL ME LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

¡Buenas noches! Hoy ha sido el único día de la semana en el que he podido disfrutar de la ciudad, siempre con la mejor compañía. He visitado mis tiendas favoritas en Barcelona, y todo ello acompañado de un precioso cielo azul que ha dado por inaugurada la primavera de este año, así que no he tenido más remedio y he aprovechando para hacer algunas fotografías. Ya tenemos con nosotros la Semana Santa, ¡y con ella el tiempo libre! Por fin. Aún debo adelantar faena atrasada, pero no pienso dejaros incomunicados. ¡Os deseo un muy buen fin de semana! Good night! Today was the only day of the week that I could enjoy the city, always with the best company. ¡Hola, soy David Alcubilla Rabal! Vivo en Barcelona, y este es mi nuevo Blog. Soy estudiante de Artes Escénicas. Como buen Piscis que soy, adoro todo lo relacionado con el Arte, y aquí trataré principalmente el mundo de la Moda. También es posible que haga alguna incursión en dibujo, música, fotografía, baile… ¡Tengo demasiadas pasiones! Espero que os encanten mis publicaciones. Hello, this is David Alcubilla Rabal! I live in Barcelona, and this is my new Blog. I'm a student of Performing Arts. As a good Pisces, I adore everything that's related to Art, and here I'll mainly process the Fashion world. It is possible me to talk about music, photography or dance too. Como primer post, os dejo unas fotografías mías en la ciudad de Girona, Cataluña. La verdad es que es una ciudad muy bonita, donde pude visitar el Museo del Cine, del cual estoy enamorado.
